This post is all about fun things to do in April to enjoy the spring in its full bloom!

I have many favorite months of the year, and April is right at the top.
Might be because it’s my birthday month, hahah, but I also have a deep-rooted love for April because of its light and fresh energy.
Last year, I had the most incredible time in April with trips to the waterfall, water park, trekking spots, and reading books outdoors while soaking in all that perfect weather.
And all of that made me appreciate this month even more.
So, I am here to make April this year even more amazing.
And for that, I am creating this list of 12 activities that I think all of you would want to check off your list too.

These April activities will make you appreciate the loveliness of the spring/summer season, and get you out of your stuck routine for a change.
Ready? Let’s do it!
12 Things You Can Do In April
1. Plan a Spring Picnic
April is practically made for picnics.
The sun isn’t blazing yet, and there’s a crispness in the air that makes being outside feel like a dream.
So, on a day off, pack a cozy blanket, some fresh fruits, sandwiches, and a fun drink (maybe homemade lemonade or iced coffee).
Then head to a peaceful park, riverside, or your own backyard for an April picnic.
You can also bring a book, a journal, and a little speaker for soft music while you lounge.

2. Go on a Waterfall or Nature Hike
After last year’s trips, I’m convinced that April is the best month of the year for outdoor adventures.
If you have a waterfall nearby, go! The post-winter water flow is usually at its peak, making the falls even more stunning.
If waterfalls aren’t an option, find a scenic hiking trail and just breathe in the fresh air.
April’s cool mornings and warm afternoons will make for the most refreshing hikes. Your body will love the workout!

3. Try a New Spring Recipe
There’s something about cooking with fresh spring produce that feels incredibly grounding. At least, it does to me.
Use seasonal goodies like asparagus, strawberries, and leafy greens to create something tasty.
You can go for strawberry basil salad, lemon pasta, or a light and airy cake to celebrate the start of warmer days.
Oh, and if your birthday happens to be in April like mine, bake yourself something special the day before. You and I both deserve it!
4. Make a Birthday Month Bucket List
Two years back, I started a birthday month tradition where I create a little bucket list of fun things I want to do, rather than things I feel obligated to do.
It could be as simple as buying yourself flowers, going to a café alone, or splurging on a cute new outfit.
It’s such a fun way to romanticize your special day.
If you’re an April baby like me, I want you to make this month feel extra special by making a birthday month bucket list.
If you aren’t an April baby, celebrate someone else’s birthday with the same energy!

5. Take a Sunrise Walk
Something about watching the sunrise in April hits differently.
It’s not unbearably early like in summer, and the morning air feels really clean and fresh.
Wake up early, grab your coffee, put on your favorite playlist, and just walk as the sun hits the skyline.
Notice the way the world slowly wakes up—the chirping birds, the golden light filtering through trees.
It’s peaceful in a way that’s hard to put into words. Definitely something I’ll be doing more than once in April.
6. Refresh Your Wardrobe for Spring
Spring fashion is so fun! Floral dresses, breezy tops, and cute sneakers are my favorite things to shop this season.
If you haven’t done so already, then please take a day to declutter your winter wardrobe and bring out your spring pieces.

If you want to refresh your style, you can add a few new pieces that make you excited to get dressed.
Even if it’s just a pastel-colored top or a flowy skirt, a little wardrobe change will make you feel more excited about all your April plans.

7. Have a Coffee Date Outdoors
Find a cute café with outdoor seating and just be.
You can go solo with a book, meet a friend, or take yourself on a little journaling date.
You will love sipping your coffee while the spring breeze floats by.
If you want to make it more seasonal, you can try an iced lavender latte or a honey cinnamon cappuccino for a change. Both of these taste yum.
8. Go to a Farmers’ Market
April farmers’ markets are the best out of all months.
The stalls are packed with fresh produce, homemade goodies, and bright flowers.
So, make sure you visit a local farmer’s market.
Even if you don’t buy much, just walking through, sampling a few things, and soaking up the atmosphere will be a huge mood booster.
And yes, do pick up some fresh flowers to bring a bit of spring into your home. It’ll feel lovely.

9. Plan a Spontaneous Weekend Getaway
Spontaneous weekend trips have become my favorite things to do when summer is just starting to set in.
In April, the weather is perfect for exploring on the weekends.
You don’t have to do anything big here. Just take a little road trip to a nearby town, or a cozy Airbnb stay, or have an overnight camping trip.
And there’s something really thrilling about just packing a bag and heading somewhere new for a day or two.
It will give you a nice little break from your routine.
10. Start a New Hobby
Something about April makes me want to refresh myself from the inside (that’s spring for you). a
And there’s no better way to do that than to start a new hobby.
You can pick up painting, gardening, or finally getting back into reading.
Maybe try the ukulele? Or start a spring/summer journal that you can write in throughout the season? You can also start a new blog!
This is your month to explore something that makes your heart happy.
Personally, I’m thinking about trying watercolors this month. It’s a perfect spring hobby and I haven’t picked watercolors in ages.
It’s going to make my free time very engaging and colorful.

11. Watch a Feel-Good Movie Under the Stars
Warm April nights are so soulful, and also perfect for watching movies under the open sky.
Grab a projector (or just your laptop), string up some fairy lights, and have an outdoor movie night by yourself or with friends.
Pick something light and happy like The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Notting Hill, or Paddington 2. And don’t forget your popcorn!
If you have any April movie recommendations for me, drop ’em in the comment box, please.
12. Start a Small Garden
April is the perfect time to bring some greenery into your life!
If you have space, start a little herb or flower garden—basil, mint, and cherry tomatoes are great for beginners.
If you don’t have any outdoor space, no problem.
You can keep a cute potted plant on your windowsill (like a pothos or peace lily) to brighten up your home.
There’s something so satisfying about watching greenery grow in your home, and it’s a great way to welcome spring into your space.
