You can’t explore autumn in all its misty glory until you have a cozy fall morning routine.
Check out this post for some pretty fall morning inspiration and make this season your best one so far.
From changing leaves to a cozy atmosphere, there are many reasons to love the beautiful season of fall.
But for me, the best part about autumn isn’t that I get to wear my brown boots and cozy cardigans.
Or that I get to walk the streets with a friend while sipping coffee.
Or even the fact that my cranky and demanding pomeranian cheers up the moment we step into September.
For me, it’s the cozy vibes of the fall mornings that make the season so magical and inspiring.
With the crisp air carrying a hint of mist, soft sunlight streaming in through the windows, and the feel-good vibes of transition – fall mornings are truly a sight to behold.
And a simple way to make the autumn mornings even more special is to create a perfect morning routine that makes your heart all gooey and warm.
In this post, I reveal a simple fall morning routine that will fill your wellness cup, make you healthier, and add some drops of mindfulness to your autumn life.
If you’re looking to romanticize your fall mornings and start your days on a cozy note, read on!
Cozy Fall Morning Routine You’ll Love
1. Get Up Early
Take advantage of the soothing fall morning vibes by waking up a little earlier than usual.
I normally stick to my 5am morning routine, but during the fall, I love staying in bed till 6:30.
It gives me plenty of time to laze around with my cozy morning rituals before kickstarting my day.

2. Open The Curtains
Unless it’s freezing outside, it’s never a bad idea to open your windows in the morning.
Enjoy the crisp morning air and the beautiful fall sun rays by opening your curtains and blinds.
The fresh will spruce up your indoor environment and enhance your morning mood.
After exposing yourself to some natural light, you’ll also be less likely to fall back asleep.
3. Create A Hygge Space
Create a cozy corner in your home with soft blankets, fluffy pillows, and warm lighting. This can be your designated spot for morning relaxation.
Light a fall-scented candle or use essential oils like cinnamon, clove, or nutmeg to infuse your hygge space with cozy aromas.
Fall romanticizing doesn’t get better than this, trust me.

4. Morning Stretching
Okay, here’s the deal – I love morning exercise. But ask me to do pull-ups on an autumn morning, and I’ll glare at you till you melt away.
I am looking to make my mornings cozy here, and sweating myself out to an insane cardio routine is not the way to coziness.
But yoga and some light stretching? That I can do, and I think you might like it too.
Some gentle stretching or a short yoga session will awaken your body and mind, and make the remaining of your morning routine a mindful experience.
You can do some simple stretches like cat-cow, child’s pose, cobra, and downward-facing dog.
If these phrases sound gibberish to you, you can tune into a 10-minute morning stretch routine on Youtube (that’s how I do it as I’m more comfortable working under instructions.)
5. Enjoy A Warm Beverage
I usually hold off from my morning coffee for an hour after waking up, but it’s hard to resist not grabbing myself a cup within minutes of waking up to the fall vibes.
Fall and warm beverages are made for each other, don’t you think?
Brew a cup of your favorite fall-inspired drink, such as a pumpkin spice latte, creamy coffee, or some soothing herbal tea (the healthiest and most refreshing option).
Take slow sips of your morning beverage as you tick off the rest of your fall morning rituals.

6. Do Some Journaling
I highly suggest starting a fall-themed journal this season. It’ll elevate your journaling experience and make you love the season of fall.
Grab your journal every morning and spend a few minutes reflecting on your thoughts and goals.
This is the best thing you can do to set your intentions for the day and reaffirm your goals for the season. It’ll also work as a mental detox routine.
You can also create a gratitude list and grow it by penning down three things you are grateful for every morning.
7. Read A Book
Something about autumn urges even the non-readers to grab a book or two. Reading is just as cozy as autumn, and the two mix up together to create a whole lot of coziness.
Spend some quiet time in the morning reading a book that matches the seasonal vibes – whether it’s a mystery, a romance, or a classic novel.
I’ve been gulping down romance novels in the morning. Self-help books would probably be better and more mind-opening, but the heart wants what it wants, right?

8. Mindfulness Meditation
If you decide to follow my third tip and create a hygge space in the morning, then you’ll love sitting down for a session of meditation.
It’ll clear your thoughts, make you more focused, and keep you in a mindful state for the rest of your day.
9. Take A Walk To Enjoy The Fall Beauty
If the weather permits, take a leisurely walk outdoors to enjoy the cool breeze and the changing leaves.
It’s a great way to connect with nature and also get your body moving.
You can make your morning walks more interesting by plugging in some music or listening to a podcast you love.
I am listening to the ‘Moments’ podcast by Lexi Hidalgo and it’s got very autumny vibes. I think I’m going to stick to it for the rest of the season.

10. Do Something Creative
We all have a creative spirit that is just waiting to be let out, and guess what – there is no better time to explore your creativity channels than the mornings.
Spend some time sketching, painting, or engaging in other creative activities that make you happy.
You’ll get to connect with your inner child and spend some quality time with yourself.
11. Tune Into Autumn Music
At the beginning of every season, I create a special playlist that I can tune into to romanticize the season, and fall playlists are my all-time favorite.
Create a fall-themed playlist with soothing instrumental or acoustic music, and play it in the background while you go about your fall morning routine.
I can totally see myself getting addicted to All Too Well’s 10-minute version this fall and know my neighbors will be complaining.
Tell me about your favorite fall-themed songs in the comment box! I’d love to explore some new music.
12. Body Care
Treat yourself to a mini spa session with a warm bath, body scrub, and moisturizing routine.
Use nice-smelling products that are suitable for your skin as well as the weather conditions.
Pouring into your body care in the morning will help you glow up and feel pretty all day long.
So, paint your nails, apply a hydrating face mask, and enjoy pampering your body with your favorite wellness rituals that make your skin soft to the touch.
13. Plan Your Day
Whether it’s a hot summer day or a crazy rainy morning, I never skip my daily planning.
It’s a permanent part of my morning routine that helps me stay organized and stress-free throughout the day.
When your autumn morning routine is just winding down, grab your daily planner and create a to-do list.
Set your intentions for the day, jot down some reminders, and reset your goals and priorities.
This will keep you productive and goal-oriented throughout the day despite the lazy autumn vibes floating in the air.

14. Prepare A Fall Breakfast
You might not have time to cook a fall special breakfast every single day, but you can always include at least one item that helps you stick to your fall theme.
You can keep it simple yet healthy by using fall flavors in your normal breakfast dishes (like oatmeal topped with apples, nuts, and a sprinkle of cinnamon).
Seasonal food is one of the best parts of any season.
You’ll love starting your fall days with food that reminds you that you are in the midst of the wonderful season that we all lovingly call autumn.
