Check out these 11 realistic summer goals to come out of the season feeling your absolute best!

It can be tempting to just lounge around during the summer and let the days slip by, but if you can get into your ‘growth’ mindset, you can make summer life-changing for yourself.
The days are long, warm, and full of possibilities that other seasons just don’t come with.
That’s why summer is the best season to refresh your routines and set new goals.
While I am looking forward to crossing off my summer plans and trips, more than anything, I am looking forward to setting goals.
I want this summer to be about growth, good habits, and feeling my absolute best.
So, instead of wasting away in a heat-induced slump, I’m setting 11 summer goals that will help me make the most of these warm months.
Some are about health, some are about personal well-being, but all of them will also help me enjoy my summer to the fullest.

If you want to set some realistic goals this summer to feel super good about life and yourself, then read on!
15 Summer Goals Worth Sticking To
1. Wake Up Early
I know, I know. Summer is all about late nights and lazy mornings, right? But hear me out.
Waking up early in the summer is productive, healthy, and most importantly, actually doable.
It’s not cold out there, so you don’t feel as tempted to stay under blankets.
You can get a lot of good things done when the air is fresh and the sun isn’t blaring down on you just yet.
I want to make the most of this quiet by getting up before 6am, enjoying a peaceful morning, and setting a positive tone for the rest of the day.
If you’ve ever wanted to join the 5am club, summer is your time to give this goal a shot.
I mean, imagine having extra time to sip coffee on the balcony or squeeze in a workout before the day gets too hot. Sounds like a win to me!

2. Become A Hydration Champ
Summer heat can drain the life out of you if you’re not properly hydrated.
And we all know the benefits of hydration: more energy, glowing skin, weight management, and good digestion.
Now, why wouldn’t you want all of that?
I’m making it my mission to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water every single day.
I’ll be carrying a reusable water bottle everywhere, infusing my water with fresh fruits for extra flavor, and saying a big no to dehydration headaches.
If you want hydrated skin, better digestion, and full energy all day, then pick this goal and make it stick all summer. Your body will love you for this.

3. Eat A Protein-Rich Breakfast
I’ve been guilty of skipping breakfast or settling for something light and unsatisfying in the past. Not this summer!
I want to start my mornings with a protein-packed meal to keep me full and fueled for the day.
Eggs, Greek yogurt, smoothies with protein powder, or a hearty avocado toast with seeds—whatever it is, I’m making sure my body gets the nourishment it needs to power through the hot summer days.
If you don’t have a good breakfast routine right now, then make summer the season you make it a solid habit.
You’ll be surprised by how much more control you’ll have over your cravings, and your energy throughout the day will be off-the-charts too.
4. Go For Evening Walks
Summer evenings are the perfect time to step outside, breathe in the warm air, and move your body.
I plan on going for evening walks at least five days a week this summer.
You can take a stroll around your neighborhood, walk by the lake, or just head to the park to unwind.
This goal will help you relax, clear your mind, and get some steps in while enjoying the sunset.
This summer, I’m turning evening walking into a daily habit. It’ll be a non-negotiable part of my routine, even if I am going out for just 10 minutes.

5. Cook At Home On Weekends
Weekends are usually when I let go of my routines, but this summer, I want to challenge myself to cook at home more.
Not only is it healthier, but it’s also a fun way to experiment with fresh summer ingredients.
Grilled veggies, homemade pasta, colorful salads, and easy summer drinks — you can find recipes for all these and so much more on the Internet.
I know this goal may not be the most appealing one, but if you have any personal health goals to cross this summer, then join me for this one too.
Plus, cooking at home means you get to avoid the summer crowds at restaurants. So, yay!
6. Read During Free Time
Instead of mindlessly scrolling through my phone during downtime, I want to spend more time reading.
It’s always been one of my favorite things to do, but screens always end up distracting me from my reading goals. Not this summer though.
From fantasy and self-help to mystery and fun summer romance, I’m setting a goal to finish at least twenty books this season.
There’s nothing better than getting lost in a good book while sipping an iced coffee in the afternoon.
If you like the idea, scribble down this goal in your journal and start making your reading bucket list.

7. Have A Smoothie Every Day
Smoothies are basically summer in a glass, and I’m making it a goal to have one every single day.
Not only are they refreshing, but they’re also a great way to sneak in nutrients.
My go-to? A mix of banana, spinach, frozen berries, almond milk, and a scoop of protein powder. It’s quick, delicious, and keeps me energized for hours.
On days when I don’t have enough ingredients, I just go for cucumber, mint, and ginger. It doesn’t taste the best, but my gut seems to love it.
The one benefit of this summer goal is that even if you aren’t practicing healthy eating, just having a glass of smoothie every day will make you act healthier and feel it too, even if when you’re grabbing takeout at night.
You don’t have to have smoothies only when you’re eating super healthy throughout the day, you know.
If you have any smoothie recipes you’d like to share, let me know in the comment box.
8. Switch To Organic Products
I’ve been slowly making the shift toward organic products, and this summer, I’m going all in.
From skincare and beauty products to fresh produce, I want to be more mindful of what I’m putting in and on my body.
It’s better for my health and the environment. And honestly, organic fruits and veggies just taste better.
If you like the sound of that, then do some research and find some organic replacements for your everyday products.
Start replacing your lip balm and slowly move to your food choices. And remember, you do not have to feel pressured into doing so.
Just be organic whenever possible and let the rest be. Any good change is good change, you know.

9. Stick To Skincare
I’ll admit, I get lazy with skincare sometimes. But with the summer heat, sweat, and humidity, I know I need to be extra consistent.
My plan? Cleanse, moisturize, and wear sunscreen religiously.
No need to follow 10-step Korean skincare (unless you’re into that). These three steps are more than sufficient to protect your skin from the harsh summer heat.
If you have any skin condition (like I have acne-prone skin), then you can use a serum targeting the issue before bed.
And of course, hydration is key for good skincare (see goal #2!).
Do all this, and your skin will thank you for this by the end of the season.

10. Shop From The Farmer’s Market
One of my favorite things about summer is the abundance of fresh produce, especially in the local markets.
And what better way to enjoy it than by shopping locally?
I love wandering around the farmer’s market, picking up juicy peaches, crisp greens, and fresh herbs.
Not only does it support local farmers, but the quality is so much better than what you find at grocery stores.
Also, it makes me excited to cook and eat healthier meals.
If you have a farmer’s market nearby, then make it a goal to visit at least once a week to fill up your refrigerator with fresh produce.
Also, find some homemade summer treats from the market. They are better than packaged stuff from the supermarket.

11. Follow a Workout Routine
No more excuses! This summer, I’m committing to a solid workout routine that includes strength training, yoga, and cardio.
I want to stay consistent with my health and feel strong in my body, and regular workouts will get me in that zone.
Now, I’ll admit that exercising in the summer can feel like a chore because of the heat, but you can be smart about it.
Do your workouts indoors when the heat is too much, try morning workouts if evenings are too hot, stay hydrated all day long, and eat good food to avoid energy drain.
When I say a workout routine, I don’t mean following a strict tailor-made routine. I mean moving your body every day in ways that make you feel happy.
You can join the gym, do home workouts from YouTube, take up evening yoga sessions, or go jogging/cycling. Dancing in your living room counts too!
I take Chloe Ting’s summer shred challenge every year and will be doing the same this time. Do check it out and see if you wanna join.
Her website lets you track your progress, and her workouts are super fun.
