Here are 13 things to do in June to make it a month of joy, blissful existence, and feel-good energy.

June is a month of the year that always catches me off guard.
I enter the month being on track with my routine. But when the sun starts peeking out early and setting late, I find myself questioning why I’m in my room doing the same things with my life.
That may sound a bit dramatic, but that’s the energy June has for me. I feel the sudden need to be less serious about life and do new things.
And just in case you didn’t notice, June is also the end of the half-year. This detail is important.
You start the year full of energy, but by June, there’s either burnout from doing a lot or disappointment from not doing enough.
So, a break from your productive or sulking self is much needed.
What you need to do is slow down and enjoy the summer, so that you can reset your goals and do better in the second half of the year.
In this post, I am bringing you 13 June ideas that are fun, low-effort, and genuinely worth it.
We are going to lean into the summer joys, sync our mood with the season’s vibes, and slowly gather our energy for a better year ahead.

So, if you’re ready to make your days in June less repetitive and more enjoyable, then read on!
13 Things You Should Do In June
1. Create your ‘June mood’ instead of a strict routine
I fully believe that every new month needs a brand-new routine, or at least some tweak to fit the weather and the vibes.
That’s why I do a monthly reset and sometimes even a major personality change, lol.
But June doesn’t want that from you.
With the days getting hotter and days stretching longer, you don’t want to add stuff to your plate or worry about building perfect habits.
Instead, it’s better to set a mood and let it lead your days.
Instead, sit down one morning (it’s okay even if you’re half-awake with your coffee) and ask yourself: How do I want this month to feel?
Maybe you want it to feel calm, or a little productive, but still soft. Maybe you want it to feel social, or maybe you’re craving more alone time than usual.
Once you figure that out, pick a few tiny things that support that feeling.
Like going on evening walks, keeping your mornings slow, or reading before bed instead of scrolling.
This way, you’re not forcing a routine. You’re just guiding your days, which is the perfect mode to be in for June!

2. Start living your ‘After 7 pm’ life
June evenings are criminally underrated (and I do not use that phrase lightly at all).
The sun doesn’t disappear as quickly, the air feels warmer (but not unbearable yet), and there’s this calm energy that makes you feel like the day isn’t over just because work or responsibilities are done.
So instead of mentally shutting down at 7 pm, treat your evenings like a second mini-day.
Go for a walk with your playlist, step out for ice cream, sit outside and exist for a few minutes, or call someone you haven’t spoken to in a while.
You don’t need plans every night in June.
But you do need to stop treating evenings like dead time, because they’re actually where some of the best moments happen.
3. Do a soft reset of your space
You don’t need to deep clean your entire room in one day (please don’t put yourself through that).
But you can refresh your space enough to make it light, summer-friendly, and just a bit more aesthetic.
Yes, it will take some time and energy, but it’s so worth it.
Here are three things you can do for this:
- Switch to softer bedsheets (spend time finding the perfect ones)
- Clear one cluttered corner every week
- Add something new, like a candle, a plant, or a summer wall art
That’s it!
You’ll have to give just a little energy and time to it, but your space will be cleaner and prettier because of it.

4. Start a summer show and let it become your little ritual
June is the perfect time to start a summer-themed show, like The Summer I Turned Pretty!
The vibe of shows like this is so perfect. You get beachy visuals, slow romance, and that nostalgic summer energy.
It makes you feel like you’re inside a different version of life.
So, yes, pick up a summer show and make it your ritual for June.
Watch an episode in the evening with a cold drink. Dim the lights, light a candle, tuck your phone away, and don’t multitask.
Just sit there and enjoy the show fully.
These tiny rituals are what make your days feel more intentional, regardless of what month it is.
5. Take yourself out for a solo breakfast
In June, people either go on vacations or avoid stepping out of their houses at all unless it’s for work.
By a solo date, I don’t mean running errands alone.
I mean intentionally getting ready, picking a place, and spending time with yourself like you matter (oh, because you really do).
Go to a cafe and sit there in a lovely spot, and order something you wouldn’t normally get (or your usual order).
Bring a book or your journal, or just sit and observe your surroundings.
Solo dates are amazing because they make you realize that you don’t need to wait for someone else to make your life exciting.

6. Let your mornings be slow (even if they start late)
You don’t need to wake up at 5 am to have a good morning.
But you do need to stop rushing the first hour of your day.
Open your windows. Let the light in. Sit with your drink for a few extra minutes instead of gulping it down. Resist the urge to immediately check your phone.
June mornings have this calm, golden energy that feels very different from the rest of the year. If you lean into it—even just a little—it sets the tone for your entire day.
7. Start your summer reading era
I read books all year round, but there are some months that are meant for reading, and June is one of them.
The quiet afternoons and late nights make everything feel quiet but still alive at the same time (coz hello, it’s summer).
So, the ambience is seriously perfect for reading and doing a lot of it.
Pick a couple of books and commit to reading a few pages every day.
You don’t need to rush through them, but just create a small pocket of quiet in your day.
Here are some recommendations I have for you:
- Say You’ll Remember Me by Abby Jiminez (made me tear up and laugh in many places)
- Dear Emmie Blue by Lia Louis (super cute and memorable read)
- First Time Caller by B.K. Borison (if you want a cozy romance)

8. Build a June playlist you’ll remember forever
Music has the magical ability to lock memories in place.
So instead of listening to random songs all month, create a playlist that feels like June to you.
Add songs you can walk to, play while getting ready, and that match your mood when you’re sitting alone in the evening.
Listen to your playlist often and groove to it in your room.
One random day in the future, you’ll hear one of those songs again, and suddenly you’ll be right back in this version of your life.
9. Bring in the summer scents
Something I do to romanticize every season is bring in the scents that fit the vibe.
Cinnamon and pumpkin scents belong to fall. Vanilla, oud, and sandalwood are usually associated with winter. Florals and citrus scream spring.
Leaning into these scents is a great way to be in the season’s spirit and be in sync with your days.
For June, you want to go for summer fragrances like:
- Crisp citrus
- Aquatic and marine
- Green herbal (like mint)
- Fruity and tropical
- Light florals (like Jasmine)
Pick a scented candle, perfume or body mist, and body lotion in these scents, and use them every day of the month.
Scent is very closely tied to memory. So, little details will end up defining the whole of your month beautifully.
And your regular days don’t feel so ordinary anymore.

10. Do a 7-day feel-good challenge
We usually do health and fitness challenges in summer, but your mood and inner health deserve the same dedication too.
So, this month, I urge you to take a 7-day challenge that makes you feel good every day.
You can pick one thing (like a 20-minute morning walk) and do it every day for a week.
Or you can create a list of 7 things and do them one by one every day (like journaling at night, making a dessert, and stretching in the morning).
The beauty of this is that you won’t be doing it to prove anything. You’ll just be showing yourself that you can take care of yourself, and that it feels good to feel good.

11. Put effort into your outfits
Do you need a reason to look good? Absolutely not.
You don’t need plans or for people to see you to make efforts in your appearance.
Wearing outfits you truly like can be so good for your confidence and energy.
But especially in June, when your body tends to get sweaty and sticky, being put-together helps you stay in touch with your beauty and wellness.
Choose comfy clothes that flatter you and make you feel good in your skin.
It will only take you five extra minutes to be more thoughtful with your outfits, but it will make your day.

12. Go on a photo walk
We move through our days so fast that we forget to actually see anything. But a photo walk is a fun and modern way to change that.
Pick a day in June, step outside, and capture pretty little moments in your phone.
The way sunlight hits a building, random flowers growing somewhere, the colors of the sky in the evening, and maybe your own outfit!
Don’t take the pictures for Instagram, but do it because you want to remember and cherish.
It will be a nice way to stop seeking validation and pour into your life for yourself.
13. Do one thing that your future self will be grateful for
This list simply wouldn’t be complete without adding something productive and actionable, because we do have a life to manage.
Pick just one thing you have been avoiding and finally get it done this month.
You can organize your finances, start that blog that you keep thinking about, clear your closet, or research something important.
Another thing you can do is work on a habit like hydration or having a healthy smoothie every day.
Basically, do one thing that your future self will be thankful for.
Because your one action this month could create a lovely momentum for the rest of the year, and it could change a lot for your future self (in good ways).

Let’s Make June Good!
The beauty of June is that it doesn’t demand much from you.
You can just let it pass, and nothing bad will happen.
But if you lean into its beauty just a little, I promise you can create a month worth remembering.
So don’t overthink it.
Just pick a couple of these June ideas, try them out, and let June unfold in its own way.
I hope you have a great time creating slow mornings, summery playlists, and romanticized days!
