Here is a simple life reset checklist for anyone who’s looking to do a sweet mental and physical cleanse of their routine life.
Let’s dive right in!
Your Ultimate Life Reset Checklist
1. Change Your Sheets
This is a simple first step to kick off your reset routine, but you’ll love the smell of fresh sheets and looking at a newly made bed.
I like buying a new bedsheet set every now and then. It completely changes the vibe of my room and makes me feel fresh and new.
2. Declutter Your Space
We can’t talk about resetting your life and not include decluttering. You don’t need to store items that you don’t need anymore.
Besides taking up room in your house, clutter can also disturb your mental energies. So, reset your surroundings by organizing a quick decluttering spree.
This should include your fridge, wardrobe, skin care drawers, stationary holders, and workspace.
Anything that’s expired, leaking, or hasn’t been used in the past 3 months should be trashed. You can pack up the usable items in a charity box.
3. Clean The Bathroom
First I ask you to declutter, and now I am handing out bathroom cleaning duties?! I must be insane.
Well, you can’t reset your life without tending to one of your sacred self-care zones, i.e., the bathroom.
It can be an icky task, I agree. But you’ll thank me later when you’re taking a shower in your spotless and speck-free bathroom.

4. Unfollow On Social Media
All the people you’ve not spoken to for a looong time and don’t intend to speak to again should be unfollowed.
I know this can be hard. You don’t want to offend anyone or let go of some parts of your life.
But this step will help you move on and surround yourself with meaningful people.
5. Set New Goals
Do some self-reflection and set new goals to reset your mind.
Goals give you purpose and inspire you to work for your dreams. You should update your goal lists whenever you’re thinking of changing your life.
Plus, it’s always exciting to set new goals. It keeps your inner motivation burning bright.
Making a vision board might help if you’re up for some creative paper-scissors activities.
It would also benefit you to let go of some old goals that don’t align with your purpose anymore.
6. Buy An Item Off Of Your Wishlist
Nothing screams ‘new life, new me’ more than a nice gift to yourself. It doesn’t have to be anything big or expensive.
Maybe a piece of jewelry, a book, or a cute decor item that you’ve had your eyes on for some time?
Just go to your wishlist and click purchase on what you’d love to have the most. You know you deserve it.

7. Organize Your Digital Space
The digital world is a crucial part of your everyday life, one that can’t be ignored when we’re doing a life cleanse.
Organizing your digital space can help you feel more balanced and take you one step closer to a perfect life reset.
Sort through your email, organize your folders, and run a virus scan on all your devices to ensure nothing troublesome is going on in there.
Don’t forget to clear the cache and delete the unwanted pictures in your gallery.
8. Change Your Wallpapers And Screen Savers
Changing your computer and phone wallpaper, lock screen, and screen saver is a simple yet magical way to feel brand new.
I love how we can use wallpapers as a form of self-expression to ourselves.
For example, I am in my self-care era these days, so all my devices have different pastel-themed artwork as their wallpapers.
What are your new screens going to look like? Pick a theme and start changing!
9. Start A New Journal
I only do this when I am in need of a major resetting. It feels good to say goodbye to my old journal and start a new journey on brand new pages.
If you don’t want to leave your old journal just yet, just create a new entry in your current journal for a quick mental detox session.
Don’t own a journal? Dumping your thoughts on a bunch of papers will work just as fine.

10. Do Your Laundry
I know doing their laundry as a way to reset their life isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but hey, you have to do it at some point.
Better get it out of the way before launching into your new routines.
You can romanticize your laundry experience by tuning into a podcast or listening to some music. It’ll turn your laundry hour into a fun stress-busting session.
11. Give Yourself A Pep-Talk
Pep talks are underrated for new beginnings, but they work like charms for kicking off your new life in high spirits.
Give yourself a pep-talk in front of the mirror or while sitting on the bed with a cup of coffee or tea.
I like to imagine myself talking to a friend or an audience who’s absolutely enthralled by me. Trust me, it works.
Be encouraging, use positive words, and get rid of your hesitations and self-doubts by speaking them out loud.
This will nurture your self-love habits and help you practice positive self-talk.
12. Plan an outing
Stepping outside for a fun time is good for your soul. It works like a refresh button for your mind and is the perfect way to break out of monotony.
Call up a friend or a group of people and plan a fun evening out with them. You can also plan a solo date for some quality me-time.
Pick a killer outfit to get yourself worked up about it.
13. Pick A New Word For The New Chapter Of Your Life
People like to do this for a new year, but I find it boring to stick to a single word for an entire year.
You can give yourself a new meaningful word every time you do a life reset. Going forward, your chosen word can be used as an inspirational tool.
My current word for life is ‘Happiness’. 🙂

14. Make A New Playlist
We all have old playlists that we don’t listen to anymore (and don’t plan on going back to anytime soon.)
How about you delete one or two of those and create a new playlist in their place?
Add songs that best fit your goals for the coming months. You can name your new playlist after the word that you chose in the last step.
Whenever you find yourself feeling lost, you can click on this playlist to remind yourself of your new vision for life and stay focused.
15. Get 8 Hours Of Uninterrupted Beauty Sleep
When you’re done finishing off the rest of the tasks in this checklist, reward yourself with a full 8 hours of sleep.
Have a delicious meal, sip some herbal tea, turn out the lights, and put on your sleeping mask before going into a long deep sleep.
You’ll wake up to a new day and a new life.
If possible, catch the rising sun to finish your life reset routine on a beautiful note.
