Sunday Night Routine For Good Week
1. Eat A Healthy And Delicious Dinner
Everyone knows that Sundays are cheat days, which means you get to eat whatever you want to without any guilt.
But who says you can’t cater to your taste buds without making healthy choices?
Make Sunday dinner a mix of your favorite food and add something healthy to the mix.
If you’re making yourself some spaghetti, go for the healthiest recipe you can find online, and replace your glass of wine with juice.
If you’re getting takeout, then also cut some fruits in a bowl to eat along with it. This might sound boring, but hey, some juicy fruits won’t make your takeout meal any less tasty.
I’ve found that keeping my Sunday dinner balanced like this helps me transition well from my weekend vibe to my organized mode.
You don’t have to do the same, but seriously, it feels good to put the weekend to bed with a happy gut.

2. Take A Shower
It’s not possible to talk of a self-care routine and not include a shower in the mix. It’s the perfect antidote for stress, worries, and all those pesky thoughts that keep you from staying in the present.
Pull out your luxury bath items and use them to make your Sunday evening shower extra special.
Go all out with your nicest-smelling body wash, Epsom salts, and those scented candles that you reserve for special occasions.
Play some music in the background to romanticize your bath experience. And if you twirl a little and allow yourself to be completely stress-free, nobody has to know.
Wrap yourself in a fluffy bathrobe before stepping out for the next part of your routine.

3. Skin Care Routine
After your bath routine, it’s essential to pamper your skin with the goodness of a moisturizer. Rub a non-sticky and gentle lotion all over your body, and then move on to your facial skincare.
Use a hydrating face mask, or jump straight to the toner. Apply a night gel on your face, use an eye cream, and put on a coat of your non-colored lip balm.
Go slow, take your time, and be fully present as you perform your post-shower skincare routine.

4. Plan And Prepare For The Next Day
While you’re still basking in your diva state from your awesome body care routine, it’s a good idea to plan the next day in advance.
I like to start by creating a quick to-do list. Any appointments, meetings, or small reminders should go down in your planner.
Prepare for your Monday meals by laying out all the ingredients – do this, especially for your breakfast to avoid rushing in the morning.
Pick a killer outfit to carry your most confident self to work with you. You’re going to need it to take your Monday goals in stride.
Pack your bag, pick a healthy snack to bring along with your lunch, and also carry something feel-good in your bag with you (could be a book or a journal.)
After proper Sunday night planning, you’ll be ready to face your Monday head-on and kickstart your week on an energetic note.

5. Set Down Your Intentions For The Coming Week
Each new week is an opportunity to set new goals and raise your productivity level. But rather than jumping straight into action mode, take a few minutes to set down some positive intentions for yourself.
What is your main goal for the coming week, and how can you make it better than the previous one?
I’ve found my priorities differ each week, but making them clear to myself helps me stay on track. Remind yourself of your priorities, and make a decision to stick to them for the rest of the week.
Set realistic and achievable weekly goals, and also remind yourself of the reasons for wanting to accomplish them. Discard anything that doesn’t come from a place of conviction.
This is how you can be intentional with your goals and it can make any new chapter in your life less intimidating and more thrilling.

6. Meditate To Shake Off Your Stress
Try as we might stay chill during the weekend, some amount of lingering stress still sticks to us like glue. And meditation just so happens to be the best way to shake it off.
Find a quiet spot in your house and sit down for a few minutes of meditation. Let your body relax as you focus on your breaths with your eyes closed.
Feel all the sensations zapping through your body without trying to control them. Pay special attention to the points of contact between you and the surface you’re sitting on.
I personally prefer to tune in to some mindfulness meditation on Youtube and let the narrator’s voice calm my bundled nerves. It works every single time.

7. Chill Around For Sometime
It wouldn’t really be a Sunday night if you don’t get to chill like a cucumber. This is part of the routine where you let it all go.
The planning and preparation part is over. All there’s left to do is just be and do whatever you want to.
Paint your nails, turn on the TV for an episode of your favorite sitcom, or ring up a friend if you’re in the mood for some gossip.
You’d usually find me on my balcony breathing in some fresh air, or taking a stroll on my rooftop under the moonlight.
Nature has many wonderful little things that would add to your platter of happiness and make your soul sing. It’d offer a lovely backdrop while you chill before your bedtime.

8. Journal Your Weekend Thoughts
At this point, you should be basking in your Sunday evening downtime. Now would be a good time to pick up your journal and create a mindful entry.
Keep your words free-flowing. Pen down what happened the past week, remind yourself of what matters to you, and motivate yourself to look forward to the coming week.
Solidify your future plans by putting them in writing, and doodle something to channel your creative spirit.
I try to be regular with journaling since it’s one of the golden habits that transformed my mental health.
But if for some reason I am inconsistent with it throughout the week, I always sit down to write something at the weekend.
Journaling is a quiet and blissful way to look after your thoughts and tune into your inner voice. This uplifting self-care ritual will fit beautifully into your Sunday night routine.

9. Indulge In Sunday Night Reading
My favorite part of weekends usually involves a book and my beloved cup of green tea.
There is nothing in the world that can beat the comfort of reading in bed, and for all the story lovers out there, this is the best way to close their Sunday night routine.
Curl up in bed with a good book and some herbal tea that helps you sleep better at night.
Avoid going for non-fiction, because they tend to demand your attention and make you think. We don’t want to activate our brain cells right before bed.
Stick to some light-hearted book that isn’t a page-turner. A classic is always a great option.

10. Hit The Pillows By 10 PM
You get to be a midnight owl on Fridays and Saturdays, but on a Sunday night, make it a point to hit the sack by 10 pm.
Load up your nightstand water bottle, turn off the lights, and put on your silk sleeping mask. You’ll need your beauty sleep to channel your girl boss mode at the start of the week.
Lately, I’ve been tuning into podcasts during my bedtime. They’ve been helping me sleep like a baby.
So, if you find yourself munching over your weekly plans, hit play on a podcast or a sleep meditation and allow yourself to be lulled into a good sleep.
