7 Day Glow Up Challenge
Day 1: Create A Good Skincare Routine
Whether you’re a makeup-loving queen or a raw beauty gal, skincare is something you can’t ignore.
It’s a major part of the body’s wellness and goes way beyond appearances and outer beauty.
Your skin is the outermost layer that protects your body against external harm. It requires special care, attention, and most importantly – a health routine of its own.
Also, whenever you’re trying to improve your health, it’s a good idea to start by building a skincare routine. It’s a simple place to start but can be highly confidence-boosting.
So, day 1 of your glow up challenge is going to be all about showing love to your skin.
I hope you have some quality products in store because if you don’t, you might want to buy some before starting this challenge.
These are the basic steps that I recommend you add to your skincare routine:
- Cleansing
- Toning
- Face serum
- Moisturizing
- Sunscreen
- Lip balm
Cleansing helps you wipe all the dirt and oil from your face and is always the first step of any skincare routine.
Toning restores the pH balance of your skin and prepares it for the next steps.
If you don’t have any wrinkles, pigmentation, or acne on your face, you can skip the face serum. Otherwise, apply it gently on your spots.
A moisturizer will nourish your skin by hydrating it and locking in the moisture. It’s my favorite part of the routine!
And you absolutely can’t miss the sunscreen, especially during the summer. It will guard you against the harmful UV rays from the sun.
Day 2: Have A Good Diet
Did you know that your gut health reflects on your face?
This wasn’t something I believed in until I quit my bad eating habits and saw a drastic improvement in my acne condition.

I won’t ask you to go on a crash diet or do a full-on body detox, because those things can be discouraging.
Instead, I’ll give you some simple diet goals that you won’t have any problem finishing.
For the second day of this glow up challenge, here is what I want you do to:
- Start your morning with a glass of warm water.
- Consume a protein-rich breakfast (eggs, berries, yogurt, nuts peanut butter, toast, avocado).
- Drink 8-10 glasses of water throughout the day.
- Keep your sugar intake to a minimum.
- Avoid processed and junk food.
- Eat your meals on time.
- Keep your dinner light for a deep and comfortable sleep.

Day 3: Pamper Yourself
On your good days, you might feel like a girl boss ready to take on the world.
But on your bad days, you might find yourself staring at the mirror too long, disliking your wardrobe, and being in a toxic headspace regarding your body.
I’ve realized that these phases of negative body image bring down my glow like nothing else.
The reason is simple – how you feel about yourself is very easily reflected on your face, which is why a positive body image is a key factor for a permanent glow up.
Now, you could wait for your self-sabotaging thoughts to dissipate on their own, or you could reclaim your feminine energy by pampering yourself.
My suggestion? Go for the latter, because it’s a power move and it works like a charm.
Here are some fun ways to pamper yourself:
- Take a long bath using nice-smelling lotions and bath salts. Light some candles and play music to romanticize your experience.
- Put on a hydrating face mask and take a nap.
- Paint your nails.
- Take yourself out on a solo date.
- Buy some flowers for yourself.
- Order your favorite food and enjoy it over a rom-com movie.
- Give yourself a mani-pedi.

Day 4: Stay Active
If you’ve never been much of a health nerd but have always secretly wanted to be one, then this day will give you an insight into what life is like when you are fitness conscious.
I know the idea of exercising and working out till your body hurts can be scary. I used to be super lazy about my health routine, but once I got started, being suddenly active became fun and exciting
Don’t believe me? Take up this part of the 7 day glow up challenge to see what’s it like to be an active person.
Throughout Day 4, do these simple things to keep your body active:
- Start your morning with a few minutes of stretching.
- Ditch the elevator and take the stairs.
- Use your desk for work instead of doing it from the bed.
- Cover at least 5,000 steps.
- Take short walks between your work breaks to avoid laziness.
- Head outside for a walk or a bike ride in the evening.
The goal is simple – Move as much as you can.
Your muscles might hate you a bit, but at the end of the day, your soul will genuinely thank you for all the good work, because honestly, it feels good to feel strong. 🙂

Day 5: Focus On Your Beauty Sleep
I’m sure you already know the importance of sleep for your brain. I won’t bore you with details you already know.
But did you also know that your skin repairs, rests, and heals itself while you’re sleeping?
That would explain why after a good night’s rest, your skin glows like the sun, while a restless night can leave you feeling like a zombie.
So, if you’ve been running on a sleep cycle that is anything less than 8 hours, you might want to rethink your sleep routine.
For a happy face and a healthy life, you need 8 hours of sleep every night, period.
And not just that, you also need to make sure that you’re getting quality sleep, without any tossing and turning.
Here are some bedtime hacks to help you sleep better at night:
- Take a warm shower to get rid of any tension in your muscles.
- Do some journaling to put your thoughts to bed.
- Keep your dinner light to avoid discomfort before bed.
- Read a book.
- Use a silk sleeping mask to block any light.
- Keep a humidifier on your nightstand.
- Listen to sleep meditation to remove all your unnecessary thoughts.

Day 7: End With A Mental Detox
Let’s end this challenge on a strong, soothing, and blissful note by doing something for your brain.
I first discovered mental detoxing at the end of an exhausting day, and since then, it’s become a weekly ritual for me to roll out my self-care mattress and tune out the rest of the world for a much-needed mental declutter.
A glow up isn’t just about making your body healthy and fine. Your mind needs to be prioritized on an equal level. The happier you are from within, the more you’ll glow on the outside.
Here is my 8-step mental detox routine:
- Unplug your electronic devices.
- Find a cozy and quiet corner in your house.
- Set the mood by dimming the lights, playing some music, and lighting candles.
- Check-in on yourself by writing in a journal.
- Enjoy a cup of herbal tea to reduce stress.
- Do a simple stretching exercise.
- Meditate for a few minutes.
- Relax by curling up with a book.l
