Discover 30 powerful affirmations to release negative energy and own your mental space like a true boss.
I’m not proud to admit this, but mental health rituals were not a priority for the most part of this year.
And it took its toll on me, resulting in a full month of negativity, feeling low and depressed.
Couldn’t work, couldn’t think, couldn’t do much of anything actually.
Of course, considering that I preach the value of self-care and self-love on my blog, I was not happy with letting myself get to a point of such brutal mental exhaustion.
I (and all of us) should no better.
So, I pushed all my other priorities to the sidelines and started refilling my wellness cup.
Meditations, gratitude, connecting with loved ones – I did all the beautiful rituals that have worked really well for me in the past.
But there was a certain practice that’s fairly new to my life that ended up really surprising me.
Affirmations!
On the page, affirmations are defined as positive statements that a person can repeat regularly to cultivate a healthy mindset regarding themselves and their life.
But their value, benefits, and importance go much deeper.
If used the right way, they can truly be game-changing for your mind space and turn you into the calmest and truest version of yourself.
Affirmations Are The Easiest Ways To Release Negativity
At this point, I’d usually write down the benefits of affirmations in bullet points, but let’s try a simple exercise instead.
Here are two positive affirmations that I’ve been really loving using lately:
- I am blessed.
- I am worthy of joy.
Read that? Good.
Now, all you have to do is repeat those two statements, over and over again until you feel calm.
Keep your voice soft (like the tone you hear in guided meditations), and do your best to really believe what you’re saying.
And if that felt good, then read on to discover 30 affirmations to release your negative energy and make space for a healthier, happier, and more positive you.

How To Use These Affirmations
If I don’t have much time to spare or am feeling too restless, I simply read affirmations online or create some myself to tame my rampant thoughts.
But there are better ways to really nail down your affirmations and fully absorb their good vibes.
Here are my top 5 tips for you to use your affirmations the right way.
1. Pen Down Your Affirmations In A Journal
The most popular way to practice your affirmations is to write them down in a journal.
Your brain might not remember something you speak, but it’s really good at holding on to information that you take time to write down.
Write affirmations at the end of your journal entry, or create fresh ones where all you do is pen down affirmations one after another (tried and tested by yours truly; it really helps.)

2. Type On Your Phone
If journaling is just not your thing, then typing affirmations on your phone can be a good alternative.
I love opening my notepad and reading statements that I’ve written in the past.
It’s like having a little positivity corner in your phone that you can access anytime.
3. Stick Your Favorite Affirmations On The Mirror
Every now and then, I come across statements that do something to my insides (in a good way.)
I like to drill down their message by writing them on a sticky note and pasting them on my mirror.
It’s the one spot in the house that I visit frequently, which means I get to read my current favorite affirmations in the passing.
Use this hack if you want to smile every time you look at the mirror in your room. You deserve to feel amazing when you’re looking at your reflection.
4. Create An Affirmations Jar
Buy a cute jar, decorate it to your liking, and fill it up with colored chits that have your favorite affirmations written in them.
Whenever you feel distressed and overwhelmed by negativity, draw a random paper from your jar and embrace the message it carries.
This is a sweet way to romanticize your daily affirmations practice and make yourself stick to this habit.
5. Pick Affirmations That Resonate With You
Just because an affirmation works for someone, it might not necessarily work for you.
It’s okay if you don’t resonate with every positive statement in the world. That just means you’re human, and that your life is imperfectly perfect.
On days when I’m struggling to maintain body positivity, telling myself ‘I am beautiful’ does nothing to actually make me feel pretty and only raises my anxiety.
But affirmations like ‘I am healthy, I am strong, and my body is the least interesting thing about me’, do help.
Use affirmations that make you feel good, and skip past the ones that don’t strike anything in you.
You should be able to mean it when you say it.
