10 Girl Boss Habits That Will Change Your Life
1. Wake Up Prepared
Boss women don’t just wake up on time, they also wake up prepared.
They know how to lay out their plans in advance the night before, and solidify them during their morning routine.
This habit isn’t hard to build. It should even be the first step you take toward becoming a girl boss.
First, become a morning person. The sooner you can wake up, the better, though anywhere between 5 am to 8 am is a good time.
You should have a set of positive morning rituals like consuming warm water, creating morning pages, and breathing in some fresh air.
Also, do a quick morning workout, because yes, every boss lady does this.
A shower is also a good idea to freshen you up real quick. Your clothes should be laid out in advance to avoid rushing.
Have a healthy breakfast, write down your intentions for the day, and get going.

2. Dress Smartly
Whenever we think of a boss woman, we conjure an image of a savvy-looking woman.
This savviness is evident from the way she’s dressed up – like a woman on a mission to conquer life.
Your clothes are a reflection of your mind, and since a boss lady thinks smartly, she also dresses smartly.
I won’t ask you to put on a business suit or to wear a pencil skirt every day, because even I don’t prefer doing that.
Just do this one simple thing instead – whatever you wear, make sure it makes you look smart.
On your casual days, go ahead and put on your most comfortable tee shirt, but pair it with your best sneakers.
On occasions that demand you to be oozing self-confidence, wear a killer pair of jeans with bright-colored heels.
Read fashion blogs for advice, avoid spending money on items you won’t ever wear, and keep updating your wardrobe.
And lastly, always, always wear clothes in your size. No downsizing, no upsizing, just well-fitting clothes that make you feel good and authentic.
3. Create A Wellness Routine
A highly productive lifestyle is one thing, but your wellness demands a routine of its own.
Your dream life doesn’t just consist of being on top of your career game. To live like a boss, your health should be in its best form.
That’s why, your everyday life should contain practices for your body, mind, and soul.
Some simple ideas for your wellness routine:
- Start your mornings on a positive note.
- Don’t skip any meals.
- Practice self-care for every area of your life.
- Shower every day.
- Take care of your skin as you would of a flowering plant.
- Cultivate good habits for your mental health.
- Exercise at least five times a week.
- Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day.
- Have a soothing self-care night routine.
- Go to bed by 10 pm.
- Journal your thoughts for a decluttered mind space.
- Most importantly – Prioritize your wellness routine and do so without any guilt.

4. Stay Organized
A disorganized life is an invitation for procrastination, unproductivity, and laziness, all aspects that have no place in a boss woman’s life.
So, if you’ve been slacking off in the organization department, this is your time to get things sorted.
We’ll be starting with something simple and basic so that you can test your skills a bit before diving into something serious.
Begin by organizing your room. Arrange your wardrobe, declutter your shelves, and clean every inch of your personal space.
Make it a habit to do this on the weekend, and clean your house at least once a month.
Now, moving on to some brain-level organizing.
Set daily goals in the morning, and keep track of them through notes and reminders.
Create to-do lists, use Google Calendars for scheduling, and have a dedicated notebook to keep your life organized on paper.
Also, keep track of your meals, water intake, and daily workouts to stay organized in the health department.
5. Start Something Of Your Own
Creating this blog was the best thing I did.
It helped me build an outlet for my thoughts, gave life to my love for wellness, and brought me closer to my dream life.
I was inspired to take this step following the journey of one of my favorite boss ladies – Sophia Lee.
I’m sure you have female role models who motivate you to launch a side business or something that you can proudly call yours.
It might just be time to heed your inner voice.
But what are some options you can go for without giving away a huge chunk of your time? The answers are all around you.
Blogging is a good option if you have something to teach the world. If you are an artist, you can have a website to sell your creations.
How about acquiring a new skill? Copywriting, digital marketing, and editing are in huge demand these days.
You can later put yourself out there as an expert in one of these fields and become a freelancer.
You could also start writing a book, sell an e-course, launch a youtube channel, or record a podcast series.

6. Work Toward Your Vision Every Single Day
Every woman has a different vision of life.
Some want to be at the top of their career, some are looking to be healthy and happy, and others want to make this world a better place.
First of all, whatever your vision is, own it fully. Be proud of it, and believe you can make it happen.
And next, throw yourself into it wholeheartedly. Create a routine centered around this vision.
Belief is important for success, but it is nothing without action.
You have to work at making your dreams come true, and you must do so every day without fail.
For example, if you have the most important exam of your life in a year, you’d need to become a diligent student and study every day with dedication.
You don’t have to hustle to make this happen.
Where there is passion, there is will. As long as you are true to yourself, you will love working toward your goals.
There might be days when you feel tired, but know that it’s normal.
With proper rest and self-care, you’ll glide through these phases like the girl boss that you are.
7. Stay Motivated
When you set out to become a boss lady, motivation will be your driving force.
To be consistent, you need to make sure that your inspiration well never runs dry.
Contrary to popular belief, motivation never comes to you on its own. A lot of times, we subconsciously invite thoughts that stir us to take action.
Now, all you need to do is teach yourself the art of conscious motivation i.e., learn how to stay self-motivated.
And trust me, it’s easier than you might believe.
Start by setting goals, and make sure they’re realistic and achievable to avoid mental burnout.
Reward yourself whenever you cross a milestone, celebrate your small wins, and encourage yourself in your weak moments.
Let go of people who pull you down, and talk more with those who lift you up.
Have a role model who you can follow for inspiration, and in possible, find a mentor who can guide you.
Use affirmations for mental strength, and journal to effectively communicate with yourself and keep your motivation up and running.

8. Make Contacts
In today’s world, making contacts is of high value. The more connections you have, the easier things become for you.
Instead of having to take the long route, people can help you take the shortcut and save you some precious time.
This interdependency is a beautiful part of humanity, and not something you need to shy away from.
It’s good to be self-reliant, but too much of it can turn into arrogance, which might later cost you.
So, build contacts, and keep updating them with time.
Be in touch with the people in your field through social media, be more open with your colleagues, and stay in contact with your college mates.
You could need to ask for a favor from anyone at any point. So, always be helpful so that other people can someday return the favor.

9. Learn From Your Mistakes
Making mistakes is expected, but not learning from them is a grave mistake in itself.
When you don’t create lessons out of your mistakes, you miss opportunities to grow and flourish. It leads to stagnancy and setbacks.
But when you get up close to your errors and take notes, you make progress and depict a positive attitude.
To be a boss woman, you need to hone in your senses to catch your mistakes the moment they’re made.
Accept them, examine them, but more than anything, forgive yourself and move on.
Don’t ever berate yourself for your failures; the notes you make after falling down are building blocks to your ultimate success.
As Albert Einstein once said, “The person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”
So every time you fail, congratulate yourself for your efforts, learn from your missteps, and move forward with renewed determination.

10. Keep Improving
The beauty of self-improvement is that it is an eternal path.
There is no destination you have to get to; it’s a journey full of adventures and explorations.
And as a girl boss, improvement should be a constant part of your life.
Keep asking yourself, “How can I be better?” And then find the answers through self-introspection.
The best thing here is that after some time, personal growth becomes a default nature for a boss woman. And it makes life super exciting.
Stay updated about the developments in your career.
Be a curious student, and at times, adopt the role of a teacher to help others (because knowledge grows the more you spread it.)
Keep raising your awareness of wellness, be healthier, and fine-tune your connection to your inner self.
Read self-help books for inspiration, follow personal growth blogs, and be mindful in your journey.
